AIA Decries Congressional Vote Against Fuel Consumption Limits - Concord LP | Concord Energy Strategies

The American Institute of Architects issued a statement criticizing the House of Representatives for passing a bill that will repeal targets for limiting fossil fuel consumption in federal buildings that had been passed in 2007.

8“By voting to kill requirements to reduce fossil fuel consumption in federal buildings, the House has abrogated its role in making the U. S. government a global leader in sustainability by the year 2030,” said AIA President Elizabeth Chu Richter. “This move will continue to hold federal taxpayers hostage to the whims of global energy markets.”
